A client of ours purchased a four storey building in the centre of Manchester for £12m. The property comprised retail accommodation on the ground and basement with residential flats above.

 

We have successfully claimed allowances on the plant and machinery in the retail space, as well landlord areas in the residential accommodation. Plant and machinery allowances of £800k were identified for a tax deduction precipitating a tax saving of £152,000.
